Nizoral Ketoconazole shampoo is used to treat skin conditions that are caused by infection with the yeast Pityrosporum. These include the skin infection pityriasis versicolor, as well as seborrhoeic dermatitis and dandruff, (which is considered to be a mild form of seborrhoeic dermatitis).
