ACTICOAT FLEX 7 20cm x 40cm is a large sterile antimicrobial barrier dressing from Smith & Nephew. The flexible polyester fabric is coated with nanocrystalline silver and is designed to conform closely to partial- and full-thickness wounds while allowing exudate to pass through into an appropriate secondary dressing.

Large 20cm x 40cm Format

This 20cm x 40cm presentation provides extended wound coverage and can be useful where a broad, flexible antimicrobial contact layer is required. The open knitted construction can be cut to shape where clinically appropriate and is designed to maintain contact with body contours and movement.

Indications

ACTICOAT FLEX 7 is intended as an antimicrobial barrier layer over partial- and full-thickness wounds. These may include pressure ulcers, venous leg ulcers, diabetic ulcers, burns, recipient graft sites and surgical sites. Use on infected wounds should form part of an appropriate clinical infection-management protocol.

Application and Dressing Changes

Use in accordance with the Smith & Nephew Instructions for Use and the wound-care plan supplied by an appropriately qualified healthcare professional. ACTICOAT FLEX 7 requires an appropriate secondary dressing to manage exudate. Maximum wear time is up to 7 days depending on the wound, exudate and clinical assessment. When used with negative pressure wound therapy, the maximum use period is 3 days.

Warnings and Precautions

• Do not use in people with a known sensitivity to silver.
• For external use only; do not apply to exposed internal organs.
• Do not use saline to clean, activate or moisten ACTICOAT FLEX 7.
• Do not use with oil-based products such as petrolatum.
• The dressing may not be compatible with other topical antimicrobial products.
• Avoid contact with electrodes or conductive gels during ECG, EEG or similar measurements.
• Remove the dressing from the anatomical area being examined before MRI and before radiation therapy; a new dressing may be applied afterwards if continued treatment is required.
• If persistent pain occurs after application, remove the dressing and seek appropriate clinical advice.
• Single-use sterile dressing. Do not retain opened unused dressing for later use.
