ACTICOAT FLEX 7 40cm x 40cm is the largest square presentation in the current UK ACTICOAT FLEX 7 range. It combines a highly flexible knitted polyester wound-contact layer with nanocrystalline silver to provide antimicrobial barrier coverage across large partial- or full-thickness wound areas.

Extra-Large 40cm x 40cm Coverage

The 40cm x 40cm format is intended for extensive wound areas where broad conformable coverage is required. The flexible open structure follows body contours, allows exudate to pass into a suitable secondary dressing and may be cut to shape where this is clinically appropriate.

Indications

ACTICOAT FLEX 7 is used as an antimicrobial barrier over partial- and full-thickness wounds including pressure ulcers, venous ulcers, diabetic ulcers, burns, recipient graft sites and surgical sites. Where infection is present, treatment should be managed as part of an appropriate clinical wound-infection protocol.

Application and Dressing Changes

Apply only in accordance with the Smith & Nephew Instructions for Use and the wound-care plan provided by an appropriately qualified healthcare professional. Use an appropriate secondary dressing for exudate management. ACTICOAT FLEX 7 may remain in place for up to 7 days depending on clinical assessment. When used with negative pressure wound therapy, the maximum use period is 3 days.

Warnings and Precautions

• Do not use in people with a known sensitivity to silver.
• For external use only; do not apply to exposed internal organs.
• Do not use saline to clean, activate or moisten ACTICOAT FLEX 7.
• Do not use with oil-based products such as petrolatum.
• May not be compatible with other topical antimicrobial products.
• Avoid contact with electrodes or conductive gels during ECG, EEG or similar measurements.
• Remove from the anatomical area being examined before MRI and before radiation therapy; replace afterwards where continued use is clinically required.
• If persistent pain occurs, remove the dressing and seek appropriate clinical advice.
• Single-use sterile dressing. Do not reuse or retain opened unused dressing.
